The United States was the top revenue generator in the first quarter for Calgary-based Ensign Energy Services Inc., where the oilfield services (OFS) operator expects to see stronger activity going forward.

U.S. revenue was up 65% year/year. Ensign reports in Canadian dollars (C$1.00/US75 cents). U.S. assignments accounted for 57% of the international OFS company’s $484.1 of revenue during the period.

Except in California, Ensign said U.S. activity is “steady” and “expected to remain stable” throughout the year.

“We expect crude oil demand to remain relatively steady and anticipate that moderated supply in a positive price environment will continue to support steady oilfield services activity and revenue rates over the course of 2023.”
