Eni SPA has started producing LNG at its Coral-Sul floating terminal offshore Mozambique, setting the stage for the country to soon export its first cargo.  

An Eni spokesperson confirmed first production and told NGI the company would announce the loading of its first cargo once the milestone is reached. 

The 3.4 million metric tons/year (mmty) Coral-Sul vessel is the only one of three planned liquefied natural gas projects in Mozambique that has not been delayed by terrorist attacks. If all three projects are eventually completed, the country would have the capacity to produce 30 mmty of the super-chilled fuel.
