energyOn.com, an e-commerce company offering a consumer resourceWeb site which lets customers in deregulated gas and electricmarkets compare service offers, has expanded its service territoryto include New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The companyalready provided information on markets in Ohio, and expects to addmany more states in the near future. Information on gas andelectric supplier choices in California will be launched later thismonth, the company said.

The states energyOn.com is expanding into have been among themost active in deregulating their respective energy industries.Pennsylvania and New Jersey already have deregulated electricindustries and their gas utilities unbundle on Nov. 1 and Dec. 31respectively. New York already has choice in both is electric andgas industries.

“Many people don’t understand how utility deregulation affectsthem,” says Ken Soule, executive vice president, partnershipdevelopment of energyOn.com. “What we want them to know is thatwith deregulation, consumers now have the right to choose theirprovider and shop around for the best products and services. Wedon’t make a choice for them….”

The Web site, www.energyOn.com, offers residential andcommercial consumers the ability to compare all marketer offers ina given location. People can log onto the site, review providers,research products, and compare prices. They can also sign up withtheir provider of choice free of charge, the company said. As anadded benefit, the new supplier takes care of all of the details,notifies the customers’ former supplier, oversees the transitionand guarantees the same level of service.
