Energy Transfer LP’s plans for a brownfield liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Louisiana has gained new momentum after the announcement of two long-term sale and purchase agreements (SPA) with China’s ENN Natural Gas Co. Ltd.

Dallas-based subsidiary Energy Transfer LNG Export LLC  said Tuesday it netted two 20-year SPAs with ENN Natural Gas and affiliate ENN Energy Holdings Ltd. Under the agreements, ENN Natural Gas would receive 1.8 million metric tons/year (mmty) and ENN Energy would receive  0.9 mmty.

The SPAs would take effect once progress goals for the project are met, including a final investment decision (FID). LNG cargoes indexed to Henry Hub would then be delivered on a free-on-board basis as early as 2026, according to Energy Transfer.
