Discovery Gas Transmission LLC, a 150-mile pipeline operated by Williams’ Discovery system, has started an open season that will run through May 2 for shippers interested in additional market outlet connections near the Larose processing plant in southeastern Louisiana.

The Discovery system consists of Discovery Gas Transmission’s 30-inch, 150-mile pipeline located onshore and offshore Louisiana, and Discovery Producer Services LLC, which owns related facilities including a 600 MMcf/d cryogenic gas plant, a 42,000 bbl/d fractionator, 80 miles of primarily deepwater gas gathering lines and deepwater production handling facilities.

New connections are being evaluated to the following four natural gas pipelines in Louisiana:

The level of market commitment will determine the cost, facilities, final capacity and rates for the project, said the company. Subject to sufficient market support and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval, the new service would be available in the fourth quarter.
