Natural gas flow from the Gulf of Mexico that is hindered by the shuttered Pascagoula Gas Processing Plant has returned to the level of 305 MMcf/d, with offshore liquid issues “resolved and valve work completed,” Destin Pipeline said late Wednesday.

The straddle plant, operated by Enterprise Products Partners LP, has been closed since last week following an explosion (see Daily GPI, July 5). Before the incident, the plant was processing about 400 MMcf/d from the offshore.

Enterprise “continues to be unable to process gas” and has not indicated when services will resume, Destin said in a bulletin board posting. The shut-in has prevented Destin from providing gas transportation service “from all of its offshore receipt points…”

However, Destin is offering an alternate delivery option through the Viosca Knoll Gathering System (VKGS) and accepting nominations for total gas flows from Main Pass (MP) 260 for up to 305 MMcf/d.

“Once flows have stabilized and the system has been brought back into balance, it may be possible for Destin to return the operational capacity up to potentially up to 350 MMcf/d, which is the capacity of the VKGS meter at MP 260.”

Destin onshore gas transportation service has not been affected and normal operations continue.
