Become part of an independent natural gas market news team, reporting for our newest successful launch, NGI’s Mexico Gas Price Index. Looking for both full and part-time positions with experience reporting and writing on natural gas and/or the Mexican government. May be located above or below the border, and work remotely.

This is a serious high-powered business. We’re not asking for much, just highly intelligent, qualified journalists, dedicated to delivering a top product. At least two years experience as a daily business journalist is required, plus a working knowledge of the Spanish language.

You don't have to know the natural gas business back to front. But, overall are you:

Some things you will be doing:

  • Listen to company earnings calls and follow up leads on new activities and trends
  • Watch daily market prices across North America to identify short and long term trends
  • Investigate new demand side developments among utilities, industrials and power plants
  • Report on natural gas producers and their drilling ventures in the various basins;
  • Track new long line and midstream pipeline proposals;
  • Report on federal and state regulatory and legislative actions affecting natural gas production, transportation and sales
  • Identify images to go with stories; write, edit and help compile stories in html
  • Willing to learn and use a content management system for publishing content

This is more an in-house job where you will be scanning wires and websites and calling sources to stay on top of new developments and round out your coverage.

NGI, an established (37 years) B2B news/data services company, located in Dulles, Virginia, is looking for a hands-on professional, experienced in both inside and outside business development and customer satisfaction.

Because of the growth in demand for B2B energy news and data, and as a result of a few smart and/or lucky decisions we have made along the way, NGI has experienced tremendous growth in web content and traffic. Help us continue to monetize that growth.

There is no cold calling here -- we promise. Our name recognition, marketing and content spawn lots of warm, inbound leads. You will help these folks figure out if NGI's B2B products and services are right for them.

There will also be some travel to cities such as Chicago, Houston, Boston and Denver, LA and Mexico City. We will send you to conferences (maybe once a month at most) in these and other terrible places and encourage you to make friends with folks in the industry. If these friends then become NGI customers, that is a good thing and you will be benefited both financially and through (we hope) a sense of accomplishment!

We also have lots of existing customers we would like to keep. You will provide first touch, white-glove customer service (think inbound chat, email and phone) to these good folks. Again, if they like you and us, then they are more likely to remain our customer and maybe they will even buy additional products and services from us.

Successful candidates for this position will possess:

Engage your right brain by conceiving, creating and implementing marketing campaigns using web, email and social media. Then challenge your left brain by measuring the results and assessing the ROI of these campaigns.

This is a roll-your-sleeves-up-and-do-it position. You will need to work hard and think quickly. The ability to jump in and hand code HTML and/or create custom reports in XLS is a must. Equally important is the ability to embrace and quickly learn new technology. Experience with CMS, CRM, marketing automation, dedicated landing pages and social media as it relates to B2B is a huge plus.

There may also be some travel to cities such as Chicago, Houston, Boston and Denver, LA and Mexico City. We will send you to industry conferences from time to time in these and other cities.

Marketing & Administration Intern

We're searching for an intelligent and ambitious Sales & Administration intern to learn B2B marketing from the ground up in a small, but flourishing news and data information company. You will assist with multiple facets of sales and customer service. Primary to your role will be helping current customers and uncovering prospects we should be targeting.

You will be working alongside a friendly team of veteran editorial, sales and marketing staffers at our Dulles, Virginia location.

This will be a full-time position for the summer with the potential for part-time work going forward. It is ideal for a college student or recent college graduate looking to gain hands on experience in sales and marketing.

You should be:

  • Computer savvy with the ability to learn new software such as CMS and CRM systems. Experience with HTML a plus.
  • Detail driven - You are are able to complete detailed tasks with both speed and accuracy.
  • Search Savvy - You know how to search Google, LinkedIn and other social resources to find the right people at the right organizations.
  • Responsible Self Starter - We'll train you, but you will also be expected to make progress yourself, without someone holding your hand.

Primary Responsbilities

  • Screen incoming calls for customer service and sales opportunities.
  • Updating & scrubbing existing databases of information (Filling in job titles, updating our newsletter database).
  • Maintaining the data integrity of our information.
  • Update bad contact information for sales reps as they request it.
  • Use a variety of search tools to build lists we should be prospecting to.
  • Other projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Good communications skills, pleasant phone manner, quick thinking to respond to inquiries.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • You're quick to the draw when it comes to Google searches. You can track down just about anyone.
  • A strong eye for detail. We need this person to be able to keep our sales and marketing processes tight and fluent.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Personality that thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment and culture.
