Become part of an independent news team covering the U.S., Canada and Mexico natural gas markets, including the burgeoning international liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade.

Natural Gas Intelligence (NGI), is 40 years old and growing, expanding to meet the challenge of the natural gas era that is transitioning the world to a cleaner climate.

NGI is looking for a veteran business journalist who knows the LNG players and touches base with them regularly. You would have in depth knowledge of how North America fits into the evolving global LNG industry, with stories and a contact list to back it up.

Overall, you are interested in what makes things tick; a hard worker, motivated to learn and work to do the best job you can; prepared to meet hourly and daily deadlines; want to see your product through the digital process to internet publication; and creative enough to come up with new ideas and products.

This is a serious high-powered business. We’re seeking curious, intelligent, qualified journalists who are dedicated to delivering a top product. Experience as a business journalist working for a daily publication would put you at the top of the list, and knowledge of the oil and natural gas industry is a plus.

In this position you will help to build out NGI’s in-depth natural gas market, industry and government coverage. Whether it be at our Sterling, VA, headquarters near Washington DC’s Dulles Airport, at our Houston office, or from your home, we want to hear from you. 

In addition to covering the natural gas and particularly the global LNG trade, you would:

  • Cover oil and gas company quarterly/conference calls for results as well as story leads regarding new activities and trends
  • Interview LNG and gas industry principals on a regular basis
  • Embrace New Media, which would include regular podcasts/video, as well as social media posts 
  • Analyze daily market prices across North America to identify short- and long-term trends
  • Investigate new demand side developments among utilities, industrials and power plants
  • Report on natural gas producer activities, including drilling ventures
  • Track new long-line and midstream pipeline proposals
  • Report on federal and state regulatory and legislative actions affecting natural gas, LNG, production, transportation and sales
  • Source data/charts/tables and/or images for your articles
  • Learn and use a content management system (CMS) for publishing content to our website
  • Help frame the future of the industry and provide input on new publications and ventures
This is more an in-house job where you will be scanning wires and websites and calling sources to stay on top of new developments to round out your coverage. Travel to conferences and events across North America may be included.  Salary is highly competitive based on your qualifications. Yearly bonuses are based on your individual performance and NGI’s performance. Full benefits for health, dental and vision, and the ability to participate in a 401k after one year.

Business Development & Customer Success Manager

NGI, an established (40 years) B2B information services company, with offices in Dulles, Virginia, and Houston, TX is looking for a hands-on professional, experienced in both inside and outside business development and customer satisfaction.  

A well-respected name in the natural gas industry, NGI is able to leverage its deep roster of thought leaders to produce data and news services relied upon by the B2B energy marketplace. Add to that a relaunched website in July 2020 featuring state-of-the-art marketing/lead capture system and a slate of new services, and you have a company poised for growth. Help us realize this growth! 

In this role, you will help align the most applicable NGI services with the needs of those prospects.

We love our clients and always strive to provide an experience that encourages them to proactively recommend us to their friends, colleagues, counterparties, and, even in some cases, their enemies.  In addition to making sure our clients have a first-class experience, you will also be responsible for growing our existing client base by introducing new products that they can use to improve their business, which requires an in-depth understanding of our products, our client’s business, and market dynamics.

There will be instances where you will need to visit prospects and clients or attend industry-related events.  Some of these visits will require travel outside of your home area, generally not more than once per month.  However, to be successful in this role, you will need to be as effective selling remotely as you would be in person.  

Successful candidates for this position will possess:

  • Expert communication skills and relentless work ethic – these are a must!
  • B2B sales experience required. Subscription/Information services sales experience and 3+ years experience selling to the energy/natural gas industry is a bonus.
  • High digital IQ. Quick to learn new software/apps/tech.
  • Motivation to take responsibility and commitment to get the job done.
  • Experience selling in Latin American markets a bonus

Digital Marketing & Sales Specialist

NGI is looking for a hands-on professional, ready to hit the ground implementing digital media campaigns to drive new and returning web traffic and sales leads.

Because of the growth in demand for B2B energy news and data, and as a result of a few smart and/or lucky decisions we have made along the way, NGI has experienced tremendous growth in web content and traffic. Help us continue to monetize that growth.

Engage your right brain by conceiving, creating and implementing marketing campaigns using web, email and social media. Then challenge your left brain by measuring the results and assessing the ROI of these campaigns.

This is a roll-your-sleeves-up-and-do-it position. You will need to work hard and think quickly. The ability to jump in and hand code HTML and/or create custom reports in XLS is a must. Equally important is the ability to embrace and quickly learn new technology. Experience with CMS, CRM, marketing automation, dedicated landing pages and social media as it relates to B2B is a huge plus.

There may also be some travel to cities such as Chicago, Houston, Boston and Denver, LA and Mexico City. We will send you to industry conferences from time to time in these and other cities.
