Comstock Resources Inc. spent 2022 shoring up its western Haynesville acreage that could provide “a lot of potential” in the independent’s long-term strategy to supply a surge LNG growth on the Gulf Coast, said CEO Jay Allison.

Looking to the liquefied natural gas buildout, “it’s going to run its course,” he said during the fourth quarter conference call. “And this demand will pick up in the next several years, and we just want to be positioned not to oversupply the market to provide have how much cash the market needs.
