The intention of the López Obrador government to change the constitution to restore vertical integration in the electricity industry is a matter of the greatest importance and could completely alter the shape of the Mexican energy sector in the next three years. Mexican energy policy, the regulatory environment and the daily operations of the companies that participate in the energy sector would radically shift in the remainder of this administration.
