A story published on Wednesday concerning Aubrey McClendon‘s latest foray into the onshore through entityAmerican Energy Partners LP is said to include misinformation, according to a spokesman (see Shale Daily, Aug. 21). McClendon left Chesapeake Energy Corp. on April 1. Later that month Chesapeake executives Henry Hoodand Tom Price also departed, and a Chesapeake official said at the time they would be working with McClendon in his new endeavor (see Shale Daily, April 17). Price in fact told the The Oklahoman that McClendon had “kindly offered to provide me with an office, and I have accepted…Aubrey and I have worked really well together on trying to do things that benefit Oklahoma City. I think we can continue to do that and hopefully enhance the prosperity of the state as well.” Neither Hood nor Price are said to be part of the new endeavor, said the spokesman. Also, American Energy’s spokesman claimed that neither McClendon nor his associates own the headquarters in Oklahoma City, as state officials had indicated in April.
