Chevron Corp.’s natural gas marketing subsidiary has delivered its first cargo of LNG with fully certified offsets from three projects across Asia.

The shipment of liquefied natural gas was delivered from the Gorgon project offshore of northwest Australia to state-owned CPC Corp.’s terminal in Taiwan. Chevron disclosed the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the cargo would be fully offset with the completion of nature-based and energy efficiency projects in Cambodia, Indonesia and Nepal.

Chevron’s John Kuehn, the firm’s supply and trading division, said the delivery of the first offset cargo is a critical step toward the company’s goal to be net-zero by 2050 and its ability to meet CPC’s demand for low-emission fuel.
