Cheniere Unit Midship Files For Pipeline From SCOOP/STACK to Gulf Coast
Cheniere Energy Inc.’s Midship Pipeline Co. LLC has filed at FERC for its proposed 199.4-mile pipeline to carry 1.44 Bcf/d of natural gas from the Anadarko Basin in Oklahoma to Gulf Coast and Southeast markets, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports.
“The Midship Project is being developed primarily to transport natural gas out of the SCOOP [South Central Oklahoma Oil Province] and STACK [Sooner Trend Anadarko Basin Canadian and Kingfisher counties] plays in Oklahoma in response to increased drilling activity and forecasted production growth,” Midship said in its filing [CP17-458].
The project has three foundation shippers, which have taken a combined 750 MMcf/d of capacity: Marathon Oil Co. (250 MMcf/d), Gulfport Energy Corp. (200 MMcf/d), and Devon Gas Services LP (300 MMcf/d). Midship also has an agreement with affiliate Corpus Christi Liquefaction LLC for 75 MMcf/d of firm capacity. Cheniere is developing a liquefaction and export terminal at Corpus Christi, TX.
Midship said that during an open season that ended March 30 new counterparties indicated interest in contracting for firm and interruptible transportation service on the pipeline.
The 36-inch diameter interstate system would include three compressor stations, six receipt meter stations and two delivery meter stations (one of which would have three delivery meters with one each serving Midcontinent Express Pipeline LLC, Gulf Crossing Pipeline Co. LLC, and NGPL).
Miscellaneous appurtenant facilities would be constructed, and the project would have two lateral pipelines and appurtenant facilities. The Chisholm Lateral would consist of 20.3 miles of 30-inch diameter pipeline in Kingfisher County, OK. The Velma Lateral would consist of 13.6 miles of 16-inch diameter pipeline in Stephens, Carter and Garvin counties in Oklahoma.
Midship asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to grant all necessary authorizations for the project by February 2018. In-service is proposed for April 1, 2019.
