Increased production and prices of all commodities propelled an improved performance by Canadian independent Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. during the first six months of this year.

As the Covid-19 pandemic faded, Tamarack oil and natural gas liquids production jumped by 37% to average 18,751 b/d during January through June this year. Natural gas output grew by 11% to 56.7 MMcf/d.

Tamarack’s light oil fetched C$70.69/bbl ($56.55) in the first half of 2021, nearly double the pandemic low of C$36.46/ ($29.17) in 2Q2020. The firm’s heavy crude likewise gained sharply to C$56.47/bbl ($45.18/bbl) from C$33.81 ($27.05).
