Kinder Morgan Inc. (KMI) plans to permit and construct a renewable diesel (R99) hub in Southern California as growth opportunities in the market expand. 

“As refineries are converting to renewable diesel, we believe this is an attractive opportunity to pivot to the energy fuels of the future in a manner that is consistent with our corporate goals and return criteria,” said KMI’s Dax Sanders, Products Pipeline president.

California’s cadre of renewable diesel producers includes Global Clean Energy Holdings Inc. (GCEH) and Phillips 66.

The newly announced Southern California hub would allow KMI customers to aggregate R99 batches in the Los Angeles area and ship them on the SFPP LP products pipeline system to the Colton (Inland Empire) and Mission Valley (San Diego)...
