The Biden administration is funding $2.52 billion to accelerate investments in carbon capture storage (CCS) and carbon transport technologies

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 funded two programs: the Carbon Capture Large-Scale Pilots and Carbon Capture Demonstration Projects. The goal of these programs is to decrease carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from electricity generation toward a nationwide goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.

“By focusing on some of the most challenging, carbon intensive sectors and heavy industrial processes, today’s investment will ensure America is on a path to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 and at the forefront of the global clean energy revolution,” said Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm
