Onshore operator Energen Corp. has elected David Bolton as vice president of land for the exploration and production unit. Bolton succeeds Paul C. Rote, who retired. Bolton formerly was southern division land director for Chesapeake Energy Corp., where he coordinated new ventures and land activities in the Permian Basin, South Texas and Midcontinent, as well as the Haynesville and Barnett shales. Birmingham, AL-based Energen is one of the top drillers in the Permian.

Glen Kettering, who has been serving as interim CEO for Columbia Pipeline Group (CPG) since December, has been named CPG group CEO and executive vice president. Kettering has been senior vice president of Corporate Affairs for CPG parent NiSource since 2006. He joined the law department of Columbia Gas Transmission (CGT) in 1979 and has served in a variety of legal, regulatory, commercial and executive roles, including president of CGT and Columbia Gulf Transmission. Former CPG CEO Jimmy Staton announced his retirement in December, effective Monday (March 31). NiSource and Columbia merged in 2000 (see Daily GPI, June 2, 2000).
