Williams kicked off its open season last week for shippersinterested in annual firm transportation service produced by theTransco’s Trenton-Woodbury Loop expansion project. the project isexpected to be in service as early as fourth quarter 2002. The openseason will run until 5 p.m. (CST) on Feb. 28.

The expansion of Transco pipeline system’s Trenton-Woodbury Loopis intended to meet rising natural gas demand in central New Jerseyand eastern Pennsylvania The company said that the firmtransportation service will be performed under Transco RateSchedule FT and part 284 (G) of the Federal Energy RegulatoryCommission (FERC) regulations. Interested shippers can subscribe toa minimum 10-year term for capacity on the Trenton-Woodbury Loopfrom Transco Compressor Station 210 in the company’s Zone 6.

“Natural gas demand in the northeastern United States continuesto climb,” said Gary Lauderdale, senior vice president of Williams’Transco pipeline. “Much of this demand is being driven by thegrowth in the gas-fired power generation market in Pennsylvania andNew Jersey. The Trenton-Woodbury Loop expansion project is anotherexample of our commitment to serve the needs of this dynamicmarketplace.”

Williams said it plans to file the expansion project with FERCupon the close of the open season. The company will set thefacilities, incremental capacity and rates once the open season hasgauged the level of market commitment for the project.
