Avista and Reliant Make Distribution Pact

Avista Corp.'s Internet specialty billing and information services affiliate, Avista Advantage, and Texas-based Reliant Energy have made a product distribution agreement.

"The agreement we've reached with Reliant Energy (formerly Houston Industries) is significant because it provides us the opportunity to deliver our innovative Internet-based products and services into a vital and growing market," said T.M Matthews, Avista Corp. CEO.

Avista Advantage provides Internet-based utility bill processing, payment and information services to multi-site commercial customers throughout the U.S. ACIS - the Advantage Customer Internet Sit - provides these customers with an integrated utility reporting tool. ACIS products include consolidated billing, resource accounting, load profiling, and energy analysis.

Matthews said Avista Advantage has developed a distinctive line of services that starts with a proprietary customer information system. Through ACIS, customers are able to choose their energy-related information and shape how it is displayed. Customers are able to perform site-by-site analysis, and ACIS allows reports to be grouped by region, state, responsibility center, climate zone and local distribution company or service provider.

Avista Advantage serves more than 10,000 managed sites and is working with the more than 4,000 utilities that serve those sites. Avista Advantage recently began offering customers its newest service-bill payment and analytical services for maintenance and repair bills. Avista Advantage customers include Boston Chicken, Burger King, Busy Body Fitness, Doubletree Hotels, Extended Stay America, Just for Feet, Reebok, Stage Stores Inc., and the U.S. Postal Service.
