Y2K Conference Set for February

FERC announced it will sponsor a technical conference next month on the issue of Y2K readiness in the energy industry. It will be held Feb. 18 at 9 a.m. at the Commission's Washington headquarters.

The conference is being held as an outreach for the President's Council on Year 2000 Conversion, which has designated the Commission as the lead agency for the oil and gas sector of its Energy Working Group. The conference will be hosted by the Natural Gas Council and the American Petroleum Institute.

The second report in a series of quarterly assessments on Y2K readiness efforts will be presented by the industry associations that are part of the President's Council oil and gas sector. For further information on the conference, contact Donna La May at (202) 501-2341.
