FERC announced it will sponsor a technical conference next month
on the issue of Y2K readiness in the energy industry. It will be
held Feb. 18 at 9 a.m. at the Commission's Washington headquarters.
The conference is being held as an outreach for the President's
Council on Year 2000 Conversion, which has designated the
Commission as the lead agency for the oil and gas sector of its
Energy Working Group. The conference will be hosted by the Natural
Gas Council and the American Petroleum Institute.
The second report in a series of quarterly assessments on Y2K
readiness efforts will be presented by the industry associations
that are part of the President's Council oil and gas sector. For
