About 435 acres in northern Pennsylvania, some of which are currently paying royalties for Marcellus Shale drilling, are scheduled to be sold at a live auction at the end of the month.

According to United Country Real Estate (UCRE), seven separate tracts in Bradford and Susquehanna counties will be sold at a live auction at the Fairfield Inn in Wysox, PA, at 1 p.m. on Oct. 30. Bids will also be accepted over the Internet.

UCRE said Tom Mullen & Associates LLC, a real estate firm based in Waverly, NY, would be assisting with the auction, as would Tioga, PA-based Jelliff Auction Group LLC and the website mineralmarketing.com.

“Several of these parcels lie in some of the highest gas producing areas in the state,” UCRE said.

Mineral rights for all seven tracts will convey.

Six of the seven parcels, about 224 acres, were previously owned by the Manzek Land Co. Inc., which was based in Lawton, PA. According to court records, Manzek went into receivership in May 2009. The Court of Common Pleas of Susquehanna County ordered Manzek’s remaining assets liquidated this past April (Case No.1009-349-CP).

A 221.7-acre farm in Bradford’s Athens Township, not part of the Manzek liquidation, will also be sold at the auction. UCRE said the farm was not currently leased for oil and gas drilling.
