Kinder Morgan Inc.’s Tennessee Gas Pipeline late Wednesday declared a critical day 1 operational flow order (OFO) effective 9 a.m. Thursday due to a force majeure event at its Compressor Station 249 in Carlisle, NY.

“Tennessee is in the process of developing a repair plan,” the pipeline said in a notice declaring the compressor station force majeure. “At this time, Tennessee anticipates an impact of approximately 200,000 Dth to scheduled volumes and is not allowing any increases through Station 245 for the remainder of gas days 8/29 and 8/30.”

The OFO affects all balancing parties downstream of Station 249 in zones 5 and 6 (including LMS-PA, SA contracts acting as balancing parties, LMS-MA, and LMS-PL balancing parties),” the pipeline said in a separate notice to customers.

“In the event the OFO Critical Day 1 is not sufficient to maintain the operational integrity of the system, Tennessee may issue a Critical Day 2 or an OFO Balancing Alert,” it said. “Tennessee cannot accept unscheduled imbalances and requires all customers to nominate and schedule any payback requests.”
