Citing limited operational flexibility and storage injection capability, along with high linepack, Tennessee said a systemwide Imbalance Warning to guard against the creation of excessive positive imbalances will take effect Wednesday. Operators of receipt/delivery points must observe the Imbalance Warning requirements “regardless of their cumulative imbalance position,” the pipeline said.

As a result of anomaly investigations performed last summer, Northwest will begin replacing pipe Wednesday (Dec. 1) in the mainline valve segment just south of Rangely Compressor Station. This section is not looped, so throughput will be reduced to net zero during the work, Northwest said, and the Sand Springs receipt point will shut in. The project is scheduled to last 24 hours. Northwest said in the event of an early completion, Northwest will evaluate the possibility of allowing scheduled volumes through the mainline and Sand Springs in the Intraday 2 nominations cycle. Due to unforeseen mechanical issues, Northwest will also perform compressor maintenance at Pocatello Compressor Station during the Dec 1-15 period, 2010. The station’s full design capacity of 655,000 Dth/d will be available, the pipeline said, but additional volumes will be limited.

Gulf South has scheduled about 12 hours of maintenance starting at 7 a.m. CST Tuesday on Index 302 (the 6-inch diameter McComb Line) between Mile Posts 4.3 and 5.2 in Hinds County, MS. One Atmos Energy farm tap will be shut in during the work.

Rockies Express (REX) noted in connection with a nonbinding open season that Wabash Gas Storage is holding through Dec. 10 for capacity at its facility under development in Edgar County, IL, south of the Joliet Hub (see Daily GPI, Nov. 16), that the facility will be connected to Midwestern Gas Transmission at a point about 20 miles south of REX. REX said it presently has the ability to deliver into Midwestern and will consider the development of additional services, “including but not limited to the installation of booster compression to facilitate the receipt of gas from Midwestern into REX.” Information about the Wabash project is at www.wabashstorage.com/openseason.

Kern River said it is adding two Northern Utah Backhaul Pools (one for FT services and the other for IT) with delivery meters upstream of Goshen to its pooling service. The new pools will be available for nominations and scheduling effective Wednesday (Dec. 1).
