NOVA said late Monday it would declare force majeure due to a line leak on the 20-inch diameter Marten Hills Lateral (see Daily GPI, April 24). The line has been isolated, and typical flows of about 33.7 MMcf/d at three affected meter stations have been halted, the pipeline added. It projects that repairs will be completed Saturday, and pending further investigation, the service restriction will be lifted at that time.

After completing a regularly scheduled inspection of Unit #1 at the Pleasant View Compressor Station on April 18, Northwest said it has determined that further inspection is necessary. Northwest will reduce Pleasant View throughput Wednesday from design capacity of 352,446 Dth/d to 318,446 Dth/d, and said it will be forced to declare a deficiency period and cut nominations accordingly if net primary nominations exceed the available capacity. Barring complications, the station will be returned to design capacity for Thursday’s gas day.

Noting that it had scheduled maintenance in each of its four storage fields during April and the first part of May, CIG reminded firm shippers that during work on a specific field, their injection rights must be limited because of the related decrease in operational capability, and CIG would be unable to schedule any interruptible injections. “Earlier in April, CIG’s Front Range market area was impacted by unusually cold weather and the higher market requirements related with such weather,” the pipeline continued. “As a result, the maintenance that had been scheduled for the Latigo storage field had to be postponed.” CIG completed maintenance at the Ft. Morgan field Sunday and began April 23-29 work on the Flank facility, whose injection capacity of 55,000 MMcf/d represents 17% of the pipeline’s total maximum capacity. Latigo field work, where the 80,000 MMcf/d injection capacity represents 25% of CIG’s system total, is now set for April 30-May 6. See the bulletin board for further details. The pipeline also reminded customers that Young Storage Co. will be conducting similar maintenance from May 8 through May 14, during which it will be unable to support any injections or withdrawals.
