Southern California Gas allowed a high-linepack OFO to lapse Monday. The OFO had been in effect since March 17 (see Daily GPI, March 19).

MRT will lift Tuesday the System Protection Warning that was implemented March 21.

Gulf South said Monday it had begun unscheduled maintenance on the Burns Offshore Pipeline System until further notice. The work required that Eugene Island Block 95A, operated by Apache Corp., be shut in.

Southern Natural Gas said last Friday it had experienced an unscheduled outage at Pavo Compressor Station in southern Georgia. Based on the best information it had available, Southern anticipated that the unit to return to service April 6. “Based on the current forecasted demand, we do not expect an impact to firm volumes but interruptible volumes could be impacted,” the pipeline said.

TransCanada reported having gotten the National Energy Board’s final approval on March 21 to integrate the B.C. System with Foothills Zone 8. Foothills Zone 8 and the B.C. System extend 170.7 kilometers from Alberta’s western border through British Columbia and connect with TransCanada’s Gas Transmission Northwest system at Kingsgate, BC. They serve markets in British Columbia as well as the Pacific Northwest, California and Nevada. Transfer of the B.C. System assets to Foothills Zone 8 took place April 1, TransCanada said. Integration of the pipeline assets into the Foothills System will eliminate some administrative functions specifically related to the B.C. System and save upwards of $1 million annually, it added, because instead of maintaining two sets of financial records and filing separate taxes and regulatory applications, TransCanada will be able to consolidate those functions and reduce costs.
