Energy Transfer Partners LP has completed the final phase of its 42-inch diameter pipeline project to connect its 36-inch North Texas Pipeline, its Barnett Shale pipeline system and its Bethel Storage Facility to the Carthage Hub and other intrastate and interstate pipelines.

Completion of the 243-mile, 42-inch pipeline project provides Energy Transfer and its customers with more than 1 Bcf/d of additional takeaway capacity out of the Barnett Shale and Bossier Sands areas of Texas. The second phase of the project was completed in December (see Daily GPI, Dec. 7, 2006).

The pipeline gives Dallas-based Energy Transfer connections to Texas’ major marketing hubs including Katy, Waha, Carthage, Houston Ship Channel and Agua Dulce, as well as to the citygates of Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth. The 42-inch pipeline provides cities, Ship Channel markets, power plants and other consumers throughout the state with significantly greater access to the major producing regions in Texas, including the Permian Basin, the Gulf Coast, the Barnett Shale, the Austin Chalk and the Bossier Sands.

Energy Transfer said it will begin construction this summer of its previously announced Southeast Bossier 42-inch expansion. This project consists of approximately 157 miles of predominately 42-inch diameter pipe connecting the Energy Transfer’s 30-inch and 42-inch diameter pipelines with the 30-inch diameter Texoma line north of Beaumont, TX. The Southeast Bossier 42-inch expansion is expected to be completed by 1Q2008.
