Southern California Gas declared a high-linepack OFO for Saturday, saying it would assess Buy-Back charges in accordance with its tariffs to customers who deliver its system more than 110% of their actual gas usage on the OFO day. SoCalGas also said there will be a 15 MMcf/d loss of injection capacity at the Goleta storage facility Monday through Friday of this week while a new PLC controller is installed on the facility’s Unit #7.

Projecting that its California Gas Transmission system linepack would rise above maximum target levels Saturday through Monday, Pacific Gas & Electric issued a systemwide Stage 2 high-inventory OFO for Saturday, setting penalties at $1/Dth for exceeding a 9% tolerance on positive daily imbalances.

Gulf South, which had planned to begin about 30 days of scheduled maintenance on Unit #2 at Bistineau Compressor Station in northwest Louisiana last Thursday, rescheduled to project to start Monday (March 19). Injection capacity into Bistineau Storage Field could be reduced by 100 MMcf/d during this work, Gulf South said, but withdrawal capacity should not be affected.

While completing maintenance at Greasewood Compressor Station, technicians discovered a mechanical issue that will require additional time to resolve, Questar said Friday. As a result, capacity into TransColorado was due to stay limited to 35,000 Dth/d until Cycle 1 nominations for Saturday’s gas day (March 17). The work previously had been scheduled to last through only three nomination cycles Thursday (see Daily GPI, March 15).

Dominion added bubble 3225 Friday to a list of three other bubbles that have required to shut in production due to unexpected problems with Cornwell Compressor Station’s Engine No. 9 causing “exceedingly high line pressures” (see Daily GPI, March 15). Then later that afternoon Dominion reported completing repair work on the engine and said production in the affected bubbles could be restored at Saturday morning following notification to pipeline field personnel. Dominion also said it had completed work on Cornwell’s Engine No. 8 and production in bubbles 2205, 2206 and 2207 can return to normal operation (see Daily GPI, March 1).
