MRT is declaring a System Protection Warning, effective Thursday until further notice, that sets these conditions: MRT will not schedule any Main Line IT or AOR (Authorized Overrun) volumes for delivery north of Glendale, AR; and firm volumes will be limited to their primary direction of flow. To avoid OFOs, shippers who were relying on Main Line IT and/or AOR volumes were encouraged to resource supply to MRT’s East Line, where capacity is available, or reduce applicable delivery volumes.

Noting forecasts of cold temperatures across its entire system, East Tennessee Natural Gas will implement its Maximum Allowable Delivery (MAD) service Thursday, and will allow neither secondary receipts upstream of Stations 3104 and 3205 nor secondary deliveries downstream of station 3313 until further notice.

Columbia Gas said Thursday will be deemed a “Critical Day” in Market Areas 33 and 34. Based on forecasted markets, available facilities and capacity utilization, the pipeline projected that all available capacity in those areas will be required to meet firm service obligations, leaving zero nonfirm capacity. Shippers with primary firm rights or secondary priority rights to Market Areas 33 and 34 will not be impacted, Columbia said.

Based on forecasts and projected demand, Southern Natural Gas will be allocating interruptible capacity in Group 4 (Chattanooga), Group 13 (East Tennessee) and Group 59 (Tallapoosa) starting Thursday until further notice.

Southern California Gas said Line 4000 will be returned to service next Monday. Maintenance that began on Line 4000 in September resulted in the loss of 700 MMcf/d of border receipt capacity at South Needles (El Paso, Topock) and North Needles (Transwestern and Southern Trails), and the constraint was extended when SoCalGas isolated the line from Newberry to Main Line Valve 12 in late October due to numerous anomalies being discovered during internal inspection (see Daily GPI, Sept. 21; Nov. 1).

Questar reported experiencing a mechanical failure at Greasewood Compressor Station and reduced nominations to TransColorado at MAP 297 to 28,000 Dth/d in Cycle 4 nominations Tuesday until further notice.

Dominion will take Cornwell Station’s #9 engine out of service Thursday for emergency repairs, requiring that production in bubbles 2207, 3225, 3226 and 3227 be shut in by 7 a.m. EST that day. Barring unforeseen circumstances, Dominion hopes to return the engine to service later Thursday. Work on Cornwell’s #8 engine that began last Monday (see Daily GPI, Dec. 1) was expected to take four weeks and restricted flows from bubbles 2205, 2206 and 2207 by about 30%.
