Northern Natural Gas is lifting Thursday a System Overrun Limitation notice. The SOL had been in effect, mostly systemwide but for only one or two market-area zones on a couple of days, since Jan. 18 (see Daily GPI, Jan. 21).

Florida Gas Transmission reported being notified by Gulf South that an estimated 48 hours of unscheduled maintenance is planned to start Friday morning on the Gulf South/Florida Gas Mobile Bay Lateral. FGT will not confirm any scheduled volumes from the lateral for the Friday and Saturday gas days, affecting seven meters. Citing forecasts indicating that another cold front may move into the northern half of Florida by the weekend and the possibility that the Mobile Bay Lateral outage might cause total linepack to drop below targeted levels, FGT alerted market-area customers that an Overage Alert Day notice may be issued.

Repairs on the #2 compressor’s exhaust system at White Rock Station will continue through Feb. 18, reducing capacity of the San Juan Basin by about 175 MMcf/d, El Paso said. An Unauthorized Overpull Penalty situation declared Tuesday remained in place through at least Wednesday.

Questar expected to complete repairs at the Oak Springs Compressor Station and return it to normal operation for Thursday’s gas day. The station experienced a mechanical failure Tuesday afternoon, which reduced capacity at the ML 104 scheduling point to 185,000 Dth/d effective with Tuesday’s Cycle 4 nominations.

Sonat noted Tuesday that it provides firm and interruptible storage services on an “aggregated” basis using its Muldon (MS) and Bear Creek (LA) fields; that is, for transactional purposes a shipper’s account balance is not allocated between the two fields. “Such aggregation benefits shippers, but it also requires [Sonat] to manage the physical balance between the two fields,” the pipeline said. In order to ensure that its service obligations are met, Sonat implemented two actions until further notice: 1) storage transfers from affiliate Tennessee at Bear Creek to an interruptible storage (ISS) account on Sonat will not be accepted; and 2) transfers from Tennessee at Bear Creek to a firm storage (CSS) account on Sonat on any given day will be limited to 25% of the customer’s daily injection quantity (DIQ) in effect for that day. Further, such transfers from Tennessee at Bear Creek cumulatively for the period from Oct. 1, 2003 to March 31, 2004 will be limited to 35% of the maximum storage quantity (MSQ) for the CSS customer.
