Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line (Transco) announced that it placed the second part of its Momentum expansion project into service. Phase II added 54,000 Dth/d of firm transportation capacity on the southern portion of the Transco system to serve markets in Georgia. The project consisted of seven miles of 42-inch diameter pipeline loop in Coosa and Tallapoosa counties, AL. Phase I of the Momentum expansion, placed into service last May, increased capacity on the Transco pipeline system by 268,898 Dth/d. The total cost of both phases of the project was $189 million.

Transco also said pipe reconfiguration due to third-party abandonment and removal of the Brazos A-20 platform, previously expected to begin on or around Feb. 1 (see Daily GPI, Jan. 23), was delayed until Wednesday due to weather conditions. About 110 MMcf/d from two nearby platforms will not be able for flow to Transco during the work, which is expected to last two weeks.
