Transportation Notes

Florida Gas Transmission issued an Overage Alert Day notice Wednesday with a daily imbalance tolerance of 15%.

Sonat reported getting a verbal commitment that all gas upstream of the Toca (LA) Processing Plant will be processed starting with today's gas day. However, it advised shippers that "this commitment is not for a specified period of time and could be subject to change." The pipeline said it will continue to postpone plans to shut in gas upstream of Toca that exceeds the tariff specification for heavier hydrocarbons, but if processing has not recommenced by about 9 a.m. today, those plans will be reinstated immediately.

Northern Natural Gas said Wednesday that although the Bushton (KS) Plant operated by Oneok Field Services "is still running at this time" (see Daily GPI, Jan. 10), additional gas needs to be processed or conditioned to avoid any scheduling rejections because of noncompliance with Northern's quality specifications. The pipeline said it "continues to closely monitor the matter and discuss the situation with Oneok."

Tennessee said it is encountering high Btu levels on the Larosa Lateral in South Texas, and they are causing customer complaints that the delivered gas is interfering with proper operation of various lines, regulators, meters and appliances on the lateral. Starting today, Tennessee will not accept nominations at Larosa's seven receipt meters if the point operators tender out-of-spec gas.

CIG will hold a Jan. 26 customer meeting in Denver to discuss the status and timing of the rollout of new transportation services. This will update information provided at a shipper meeting last fall in Breckenridge, CO. Those planning to attend should e-mail Joan Martinez at joan.martinez@coastalcorp.com or call her at (719) 520-4471.

El Paso has postponed Line 1300 and Line 1301 maintenance projects on the San Juan Crossover until February. Flagstaff Station and the Navajo 2D turbine will be down Jan. 22-23, cutting North Mainline capacity by 50 MMcf/d. One Rio Vista turbine will be down Jan. 22-25, limiting capacity of the IEXCPT37 and IGCNMX37 interconnects to a total of 125 MMcf/d.
