Transportation Notes

Projecting linepack falling beneath its minimum target levels through Friday, Pacific Gas & Electric issued a customer-specific OFO for today.

ANR declared an OFO Tuesday requiring that firm shippers who have nominated Marshfield, WI (site of the Viking interconnect) as a delivery point may not increase nominations until further notice. Conversely firm shippers who have nominated Marshfield as a receipt point may not decrease nominations until further notice.

Work is continuing on the ruptured Haven 400 Line segment (see Daily GPI, Dec. 12), Panhandle Eastern said, but it now estimates repairs will be completed today instead of on Tuesday as originally expected. Panhandle Eastern also reported experiencing a leak Monday on the Phillips-Hansford line. A segment containing the Phillips-Hansford Meter #09900 has been removed from service for repairs, which the pipeline estimated would be completed today.

El Paso said it has identified a potential problem with Line 1201 that required reducing San Juan Basin capacity from 2,700 MMcf/d to 2,500 MMcf/d for Monday's Cycle 4 nominations. The limit was raised to 2,600 MMcf/d for Tuesday's Cycle 2, where it likely to remain at least through Dec. 18 when Line 1200 is due to return to service, El Paso said.

Columbia Gas began an open season Tuesday that will close Dec. 26 and is being held to assess interest in summer seasonal capacity in the Darbyville, OH area. Depending on the interest expressed, Columbia is considering modifying facilities to make capacity available for transportation to a proposed new delivery point at Darbyville (Columbia's Market Area 6). The pipeline proposes to make capacity available for summer-only (i.e., May through September) no notice service.

The associated receipt points would be interconnects with TGT, ANR and Texas Eastern at Lebanon, OH, and with Texas Eastern at Hooker, OH. Columbia said it also will consider requests in the open season for capacity to other delivery points in Ohio. Minimum FT contract terms will be five years. Service will begin no earlier than May 1, 2001. Call Jim Crews at (703) 227-3211 for more information.
