Transportation Notes

The #1 compressor at Roswell (NM) Station became unavailable Friday due to a bearing failure, causing a 30 MMcf/d reduction in San Juan Crossover capacity, El Paso said. Repairs were expected to have been completed Saturday.

Columbia Gas will begin its Line KA 2000 replacement project Wednesday and anticipates a 90-day outage contingent on operating conditions and weather. There will be zero non-firm capacity at 11 receipt points while the project is under way.

Responding to expressed shipper interest in moving additional gas from the Cheyenne Hub area south to Front Range markets since the close of a similar open season on Aug. 13, 1999, CIG is holding a new open season through Sept. 20 for expanding parts of its system serving all markets between Cheyenne Hub and Valley Line delivery points. Participants in last year's open season need not submit new bids. CIG said it will try to have the expanded facilities in service by October 2001 for deliveries to points between Cheyenne Hub and east Denver. The projected in-service date for deliveries to points south of Watkins is Dec. 1, 2002. Call Tom Price at (719) 520-4465, Greg Ruben at -4870 or Scott Dalene at -4819 for more information.

Northwest does not anticipate any service impacts from several maintenance projects scheduled through the rest of September. See its bulletin board for details.
