Coastal Buys Utah Midstream Assets

Complementing its integrated operations in Northeast Utah and western Colorado, Coastal Field Services, Coastal's midstream division, bought the Bluebell and Altonah gathering systems and processing plants located in the Duchesne and Uintah counties of Utah. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Coastal bought 100% of the Altonah system from Denver-based Gary-Williams Energy Co. Coastal already had a 28% interest in the Bluebell system, but purchased the rest from six different sellers including Gary-Williams.

The Bluebell system, which spreads over both counties, includes 220 miles of pipeline connecting 270 wells to the Bluebell plant in Duchesne County. The plant has a capacity of approximately 25 MMcf/d and is connected to Questar Gas Pipeline Co. and Utah Gas Services transmission systems. The Altonah plant and gathering system are in Duchesne County. The plant is currently idle, but part of the fractionator is being used to process production from the Bluebell operations.
