Citing such factors as customer cooperation and recent storage activity in March, ANR said it was able to rescind a February notice requiring that interruptible storage customers under the MBS and DDS rate schedules draw their accounts down to a zero balance by today. However, the pipeline added, due to abnormally high inventory balances remaining and overall operational concerns, it must continue to limit interruptible injections "for the foreseeable future."

It may have been an April Fool's joke, or perhaps a Y2K-type problem surfaced early. Regardless, until it was changed later that day, Pacific Gas & Electric's Pipe Ranger bulletin board on the Internet was declaring Wednesday morning that no OFO was in effect for "March 32, 1999."
