Pennaco Energy and TransMontaigne Inc. subsidiary Bear Paw Energy signed a gathering agreement in which Bear Paw will build and operate a new gathering line in the Powder River Basin of northeastern Wyoming and provide services to about 10% of Pennaco's coal-bed methane program in the basin. The agreement covers the Pennaco "South Gillette," WY contract area, including over 8,600 gross leasehold acres and 200 potential well locations. Pennaco has drilled and is in the process of testing and completing its first 100 wells in the area. The Bear Paw gathering systems will connect Pennaco's gas wells to several major pipelines, including the Western Gas Resources MIGC Pipeline, currently transporting up to 130 MMcf/d of coal-bed gas, the recently announced Fort Union Gas Pipeline projected to be in service by September of this year, and the proposed Thunder Creek Pipeline. The remaining 90% of Pennaco's 312,000 net acres in the Powder River will be devoted to Fort Union.

Alliance Pipeline has licensed a web-based shipper interface and gas transportation management system (GTMS) from Altra Energy Technologies, Inc. Alliance will use GTMS as a primary customer interface and tool to manage its gas operations including contracting, capacity release, scheduling, and invoicing. The GISB-compliant AltraWeb will allow the shippers to conduct business with the pipeline via the Internet.
