Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co. LLC (Transco) announced last week a binding open season for its Northeast Supply Project that will provide year-round firm transportation service from the discharge of Transco’s Station 195 in York County, PA, to certain delivery points in Zone 6.

Transco said the Northeast Supply Project will connect East Coast markets to gas supply from the Rockies and Appalachia. Firm service under the project is anticipated to be available as early as Nov. 1, 2012.

Service will be made available through Transco’s Northeast Connector project and Rockaway Delivery Lateral project. Northeast Connector will provide firm service on Transco’s Zone 6 mainline and the Rockaway Delivery Lateral will provide firm delivery lateral service (FDLS) on a new lateral to National Grid on the Rockaway Peninsula in Queens County, NY.

“Shippers will not be required to participate in both components of the Northeast Supply Project; however, in the event Transco receives requests for service during this open season that exceed the available capacity under the project, then any required allocation of capacity to each shipper will be based on the net present value of the sum of the components requested by such shipper…” Transco said.

The total firm capacity to be made available under Northeast Connector will be 165,000 Dth/d; provided, however, that the total firm capacity to be made available for delivery to the Rockaway Transfer Point will be 100,000 Dth/d. Firm service under Northeast Connector will be performed under Transco’s Rate Schedule FT and Part 284(G) of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) regulations for a minimum primary term of 15 years.

The total firm capacity to be made available through the Rockaway Delivery Lateral will be 647,000 Dth/d. Firm service through the Rockaway Delivery Lateral will be provided under Transco’s Rate Schedule FDLS and Part 284(G) of FERC’s regulations for a primary term of 15 years.

The open season will end at 3 p.m. CDT on July 10. For more details contact Gary Duvall at (713) 215-2589 or Joan Harris at (713) 215-2904.
