Questar is conducting an open season through Oct. 12 to solicit interest in a new pipeline to meet the needs of Rocky Mountain natural gas producers in eastern and central Utah and western Colorado, including the Uinta, Piceance and Rio Blanco areas.
The project, which Questar has named the Bonanza Pipeline, calls for the construction of a 71-mile, 24-inch diameter pipeline from Fidlar Station in Utah's Uinta Basin to the proposed Enterprise/Questar Pipeline White River Hub in Meeker, CO, said the pipeline, a subsidiary of Salt Lake City, UT-based Questar Corp. The proposed pipe would have a capacity of at least 285 MDth/d.
Questar Pipeline said last Thursday it also plans to build an interconnect with Northwest Pipeline at Sand Springs, CO, and an interconnect with the Wyoming Interstate Co. (WIC) Kanda Lateral near Fidlar Station, if sufficient customers interest is received. It noted the proposed pipeline would have the ability to receive natural gas from the White River Hub for delivery to points west, such as Northwest at Sand Springs or the WIC Kanda Lateral.
Depending on the level of customer interest, Questar Pipeline said it anticipates that the proposed facilities can be in service as early as Jan. 1, 2010.
