Texas Eastern Transmission LP (Tetco) told FERC that the second phase of a project designed to transport natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shales to existing interconnects in Michigan has entered service.

In filings last week to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Enbridge Inc. subsidiary said the second phase of its Texas Eastern Appalachian Lease (TEAL) Project began service on April 1. Gas transmission capacity had been turned over to Nexus Gas Transmission LLC under a new lease.

The Commission last month had authorized the second phase to enter service [CP16-23].

TEAL is designed to provide 950,155 Dth/d of firm transport capacity from receipt points on Tetco’s M2 market zone and Line 73 to an interconnect with the 1.5 Bcf/d Nexus pipeline near the existing Kensington Processing Plant in Columbiana County, OH.

The first phase began construction in December 2017. The second phase includes a compressor station in Columbiana County, OH, and additional compression in Belmont County, OH.
