The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commissionhas approved an all-party settlement giving Puget Sound Energy(PSE) a $21.5 million, or 2.9%, natural gas annual rate increase and keeping electric rates unchanged, effective March 1. Under the gas increase the typical residential customer will have a $1.58 increase on a monthly bill now averaging a little more than $60. The settlement approval was conditioned on PSE returning to customers certain tax savings from the 2017 federal tax reform act.
