TransCanada Corp. subsidiary Columbia Gulf Transmission LLC announced a binding open season that will run through Nov. 16 for up to 850,000 Dth/d on its proposed Louisiana XPress (LAXP) natural gas pipeline project. Interested parties will have the opportunity to bid on up to 130,000 Dth/d of capacity. The anticipated LAXP in-service date is Feb. 1, 2022, with potential service beginning as early as Nov. 1, 2021. Anchor shippers must bid a term of no less than 20 years and a maximum daily quantity (MDQ) of no less than 800,000 Dth/d. Non-anchor shippers must bid an MDQ of no less than 395,000 Dth/d.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has authorized Eastern Shore Natural Gas Co. to place into service an 11-mile section of its Seaford-Millsboro Connector in Sussex County, DE [CP17-28]. The segment, between mileposts 6.11 and 16.91, is part of a planned expansion of the Chesapeake Utilities Corp. subsidiary’s pipeline facilities in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania that would include construction of 39.5 miles of natural gas pipeline, including six pipeline loop segments totaling 22.7 miles and one 16.9-mile mainline extension. The diameter of the new pipeline segments would vary from 10-24 inches. Eastern Shore anticipates full in-service by mid-2019.
