Sempra LNG & Midstream, a unit of San Diego-based Sempra Energy, has selected a partnership of TechnipFMC and Kiewit to be the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPC) contractor for its liquefied natural gas (LNG) export project at Sempra’s Energia Costa Azul (ECA) LNG import facility in Mexico’s Baja California Norte state. The partnership will prepare, negotiate and finalize a lump-sum EPC contract for the ECA export liquefaction facility project. Earlier this year, Sempra said it would scale back plans at ECA, one of three LNG export projects the company is pursuing. The other two are along the U.S. Gulf Coast in Texas and Louisiana.

Freeport LNG Marketing LLC has entered a binding agreement with Singapore-based Trafigura Pte Ltd. to sell the global trading firm 0.5 million tons per annum (mtpa) of liquified natural gas from its export facility on Quintana Island near Freeport, TX. The sales and purchase agreement is scheduled to start on July 1, 2020. The Freeport LNG facility is currently under construction. Its three trains have a capacity to produce 15 mtpa, 13.4 mtpa of which has already been contracted by other companies. Export operations are expected to begin next year.

SemGroup Corp. and DCP Midstream LP have extended by one week the binding open season for a transportation project that would move natural gas liquids (NGL) from the Denver-Julesburg (DJ) Basin to Mont Belvieu, TX.
