Debra Reed, 61, CEO of San Diego-based energy holding company Sempra Energy,is retiring on Dec. 1 of this year. Jeff Martin, 56, Sempra’s current CFO and executive vice president, will become CEO and join the board on May 1. Simultaneously, Joseph Householder, 62, currently group president for infrastructure businesses, will become parent company president. A West Point graduate with master’s and law degrees, Martin has been with Sempra 13 years, serving in various leadership positions, including CEO of one of Sempra’s three major utility subsidiaries, San Diego Gas and Electric Co. With business and law degrees, Householder joined Sempra in 2001 as vice president for corporate tax and has served in various leadership roles, including CFO for a six-year stretch (2011-16).

The Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA) has elected Matthew Hammond to serve as executive vice president. He would work as the organization’s public face to pursue its legislative agenda, advocacy efforts and lead day-to-day operations. Hammond formerly worked as a lobbyist at Vorys Advisors LLC, where he advised oil and gas industry clients, and as senior director of government affairs for Chesapeake Energy Corp. He replaces Shawn Bennett, who resigned last year to pursue other opportunities, according to a spokesman.
