Briefs -- Columbia Gas Transmission | GOM Alliance

Staff of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has prepared an environmental assessment (EA) for Columbia Gas Transmission's (CGT) proposed B-System Project [CP16-498]. FERC staff concluded that, with appropriate mitigating measures, the project would not significantly affect the quality of the human environment. CGT is proposing to abandon in place 17.5 miles of 20-inch diameter pipeline on Line B-105, build 14 miles of 20-inch diameter replacement pipeline on Line B-111, and other associated modernizations and upgrades to B-System pipelines in Fairfield and Franklin counties in Ohio. FERC will accept comments on the EA through May 30.

Halliburton Co., Trendsetter Engineering Inc. and C-Innovation have allied to assist Gulf of Mexico (GOM) customers with integrated offshore well intervention packages, leveraging their strengths to reduce costs and improve efficiencies. "By working together, we are able to provide customers with cross-discipline accountability for seamless and reliable operations," said Halliburton's Charles Kendrick, GOM region vice president. The partners already have worked together on other projects, including hydrate remediation, acid stimulations, pipeline flushing/inspections, maintenance and repair work in water depths up to 10,000 feet, said Trendsetter CEO Mario Lugo. C-Innovation CEO Dino Chouest, whose company operates a fleet of 250-plus offshore vessels, including remotely operated vehicles, said the new Island Venture vessel used by the alliance would offer multi-purpose supply capabilities.
