JBBR Pipeline LLC is holding an open season for a new 20-inch diameter crude oil pipeline, measuring approximately four miles in length, in Illinois.

JBBR, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CenterPoint Properties, is soliciting binding long-term volume commitments from customers for interstate common carrier transportation service on up to 90% of the pipeline’s capacity.

The pipeline will transport crude oil from a proposed crude-by-rail off-loading terminal facility in Joliet, IL — which will be built, owned and operated by Joliet Bulk, Barge & Rail LLC — to an interconnection with Mobil Pipe Line Co.’s Mokena-to-Joliet crude pipeline. From that point, shippers will have direct access to the ExxonMobil Corp.’s Joliet Refinery.

The pipeline is designed to transport up to 210,000 b/d and is scheduled to be operational by Jan. 31, 2015.

JBBR said the open season will close at 5:00 p.m. CST on Nov. 21. “The binding open season will allow interested parties to make volume commitments and execute long-term transportation agreements with JBBR for transportation on the pipeline,” the company said. “Shippers electing to make long-term volume commitments to JBBR will be eligible to receive priority transportation service at a premium transportation rate for their committed volumes.”
