Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company LLC (Transco) is seeking offers from shippers to relinquish firm capacity on its system to support the proposed Atlantic Sunrise Project, which is intended to serve Marcellus Shale production.

In February Transco said it has binding commitments from nine shippers for 100% of 1.7 million Dth/d of firm capacity on Atlantic Sunrise, which would connect supplies in northeastern Pennsylvania with demand centers on the Atlantic Seaboard. The project brought in 15-year shipper commitments from producers, local distribution companies and power generators (see Shale Daily, Feb. 20).

In a customer notice, Transco said shippers under Rate Schedule FT holding primary firm capacity within the path and direction of the Atlantic Sunrise in Zones 6, 5 and 4 may offer that capacity for relinquishment, subject to the conditions. The pipeline said it intends to combine relinquished capacity with proposed incremental capacity for the project.

Atlantic Sunrise will provide service from various points along Transco’s Leidy Line and from northern Susquehanna County, PA, to as far south as Transco’s Zone 4 and 4A Pools at Station 85 in Choctaw County, AL. It will include certain incremental mainline facilities and a “substantial greenfield pipeline,” referred to as the Central Penn Line. Firm service is expected to be available during the second half of 2017. Transco plans to file with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for certificate approval of the project in the first quarter of 2015.

Offers to relinquish capacity are due by 3:00 p.m. CDT April 25. For information, contact Derrick Hughey at (713) 215-2450 or derrick.hughey@williams.com.
