WhiteWater Midstream LLC began gauging support on Wednesday for a 500,000 MMBtu/d interstate natural gas system that would transport supply from the Permian Basin in New Mexico to West Texas.

The binding open season through Feb. 15 is testing interest in Steady Eddy, a 24-inch diameter pipeline that would connect to multiple points in Eddy County, NM, in the heart of the state’s Permian activity, to delivery points in Culberson County, which is in the Texas portion of the massive play.

WhiteWater also wants to build associated metering stations. Information is available about the open season; contact the company with additional questions.

WhiteWater, founded in 2016 with private equity commitments from Denham Capital Management and Ridgemont Equity Partners, is part of another big Permian natural gas project helmed by Targa Resources Corp.

Last year, WhiteWater joined with Targa and two other operators to develop the 2 Bcf/d Whistler Pipeline Project, which could deliver up to 7 Bcf/d from the Permian to Gulf Coast markets and beyond.

Targa said last August it had a letter of intent for the joint venture with MPLX LP, NextEra Energy Pipeline Holdings LLC and WhiteWater.

The proposed 42-inch diameter pipeline would traverse 450 miles from the Waha hub in West Texas to NextEra’s Agua Dulce market hub near Corpus Christi in South Texas. From Agua Dulce, a 30-inch diameter pipeline would run 170 miles south and terminate in Wharton County, southwest of Houston.
