BLM Final EIS Covers Plans For 5,750 New Wells on Public Lands in Uintah Basin

A final environmental impact statement (FEIS) was released for public comment last Thursday that would allow oil/natural gas drilling on up to nearly 120,000 acres of U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM)-managed lands in two counties in northern Utah in the Uintah Basin. Ultra Negotiating With Creditors Over $3.76 Billion Debt

Executives with Ultra Petroleum Corp. said the company has so far been unable to obtain relief on debt covenants from several of its creditors. It is working on forbearance agreements with some of them to allow more time to restructure its debt -- all unsecured -- which currently stands at $3.76 billion. Read More
