Consol Energy Inc.President Nick DeIuliis, 45, will take over as CEO effective at the May 7 shareholder meeting. J. Brett Harvey, now chairman and CEO, is to remain executive chairman. DeIuliis began his career at Consol’s research and development group in 1990 after graduating from Pennsylvania State University. He became vice president of strategic planning to optimize Consol assets, which resulted in creating CNX Gas Corp., where he served as president/CEO from 2005 until early 2009. DeIuliis is director at-large for the board of the Independent Petroleum Association of America. Following a business career that began in 1979, Harvey was tapped as president and CEO of Consol in 1998. In his 15 years as chief, Harvey has transformed Consol by acquiring a natural gas exploration and production company and reducing exposure to coal, which last year represented half of the company’s production (see Shale Daily, Oct. 28, 2013).
