Williams completed its Cherokee expansion project, increasing
capacity on the Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line (Transco) system by
87 MMDth/d to provide additional firm transportation capacity to
serve markets in Georgia. The $68 million project consisted of
adding looping and compression.
Petal Gas Storage Co., a subsidiary of Crystal Oil Co., extended
an open season for an expansion of its high-deliverability salt
cavern storage facility near Hattiesburg, MS. The open season will
be extended until 5 p.m. central time Nov. 16. The expansion would
add 3.2 Bcf of working gas capacity and increase withdrawal
capacity to 600 MMcf/d.
Dynegy is moving forward with final permitting and construction
of its 800 MW generating facility in Rockingham County, NC.
Construction will begin upon receipt of final environmental permits
and the plant will be in service in June of 2000. Duke Power signed
an agreement to purchase 600 MW of capacity from the facility
beginning July 1, 2000.
